About

Tokyo Pickleball was founded out of two passions: the culture and art of Japan and the rising sport of Pickleball.  A strange union, to be sure, but one that is creative and exciting.  We look forward to providing joy in all things pickleball. Its founder, Jay, was an exchange student in the 1990s where he learned about the long-term partnership between Otsu (Kyoto area) and Ann Arbr, MI.  Since then, that link has been an inspiration and driving force in his life, returning to Japan whenever possible. 

東京ピックルボールは、日本の文化と芸術、そして新興スポーツであるピックルボールという 2 つの情熱から設立されました。  確かに奇妙な結合ですが、創造的でエキサイティングな結合です。私たちはピックルボールの楽しさを提供できることを楽しみにしています。

Fun fact: Wondering about our cover photo?  We took that ourselves at Sensō-ji,temple in Asakusa, Tokyo! We'll be back in Tokyo in spring 2026 to take a lot more photos and get inspiration for new designs!
